Losing belly fat can be a daunting task for people of all sizes but just like anything on the human body it can be changed. The first step to losing belly fat is just believing that you can and having the patience and attitude to keep on working at it.

Once you decide to go through with it, an accountability partner will be helpful to sticking to your plan and you must realize that starting is a part of a lifestyle change not just a quick fix. The next step would be to change your diet, you would want to eat 4-6 light meals a day instead of the big 3 meals to increase metabolism. Now with the meals you would eat foods that contain lean-protein (turkey, beans, fish, nuts, peanut butter and eggs), carbohydrates (fruit, vegetables, nuts, whole grain)–you would want to limit these curbs depending on weight size and exercise regiment.

Next, you want to limit juices and sugary drinks and start drinking water and tea; green tea and paleo food is known for boosting your metabolism which is helpful in burning the fat. Also along with eating a general rule in losing weight or fat is to use more calories than you take in, and foods that are high in protein will be more fulfilling and make you eat less. Next, you would want to establish a workout regimen with an emphasis on cardio but with some strength training.

One complete workout that you could buy that has a set schedule is Insanity, but if you have a gym membership you could alternate cardie and strength or do cardie everyday and strength every day. Easily accessible cardio exercises include running, swimming, jump rope, bike riding and stair climbing. for strength training you would want to do exercises that focus on the core such as crunches, bench-press, pull-ups, pushups, planks, twisting lunges, sit-ups, v-ups, jackknives, reverse crunches, and weighted crunches; with these exercises you should be careful because sore abs literally affect everything you do (The majority of these exercises can be done at home).

Mixing both these strength and cardio exercises will help you develop definition while also burning off the calories that you have consumed, and eventually will lead to a flatter stomach. Lastly, rest and supplements (multivitamins and omega 3 fatty acids will be beneficial to losing the belly fat and your overall health. If you believe in yourself you can achieve this feat.
